2003 Season - Pre Season Guide

It’s less than 4 weeks to the biggest annual sporting event - the 2003 BUMS NFL Fantasy Draft at BUMS HQ on Saturday evening August 30th from approx 8pm (dependent upon World Athletics) Cheryl will be making tea for all. Attached is the player price spreadsheet which also includes all the players 2002 scores and how much a Franchise player will cost you if he is cut by his current owner. Remember if you cut your franchise player you still have to pay him his signed salary for the rest of the season/two seasons. This year top scorers becoming available include Daunte Culpepper, Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb, Eddie George, Ricky Williams and Tony Gonzalez as they have all ended their 2 year Franchise designation and become free agents. They are released onto the open market together with 22 rookies. There was a real focus on Receivers in April’s draft - see the rookie report attached. Draft Order and Franchise Players Dave G will have the first pick in the draft and Chief will have the 98th and final choice. The full draft order, budgets available and franchise players are attached. Trading DaysAs with previous years if you make a complete hash of your draft you will have two opportunities to put things right. I am waiting until we see what double headers Sky produce before finalising the dates so we can have trading day in the late afternoon, immediately followed by Sunday NFL action. Trading Day 1 will be before either week 4/5 or 6 on Sunday Sept 28th/Oct 5th or 12th and Trading Day 2 will be before week 10/11 or 12 on Sunday Nov 9th/16th or 23rd. One person who may be looking forward to Trading Day 1 is Dave G whose Franchise Receiver Qadry Ismail is currently without a team. Season Kick-Off Game After nicking 5 of their players the Jets will want revenge against Washington so with bad feelings adding extra spice it should be a great start to the season. Sky will show the game live in the early hours of Friday September 4th and we’ll get together later that evening from 7:30 at Johnnys in Harrow to watch it off tape.
